國王和勇士最近一次就庫明加先簽后換進行商討是本周早些時候，國王隊內多位消息人士透露，球隊給庫明加提供了一份3年6300萬美元的合同，還包括將蒙克和他們自己2030年的首輪簽（樂透保護）送去勇士。如果這個選秀權沒能兌現，那么將變成2031年的首輪簽（國王和馬刺中順位更低的那一個）。

球隊數位消息人士表示，上述（首輪簽的）這些保護措施一直是勇士和國王交易談判的主要癥結所在，因為勇士堅持要不受保護的首輪簽。所以，雙方的談判出現了僵局。
