費舍爾在1996年NBA選秀大會上于首輪第24位被湖人隊選中，職業生涯曾效力于湖人、勇士、爵士、雷霆以及小牛（現獨行俠）。2014年，費舍爾宣布退役。同年費舍爾成為尼克斯隊主教練，但在2016年被球隊解雇。

費舍爾生涯共獲得5個NBA總冠軍（2000-2002；2009-2010，均在湖人），共出戰1287場比賽，得到10713分，場均8.3分2.1籃板3助攻1.1搶斷，三項命中率為39.9/37.4/77.5%。
